Typically these projects pertain to various FCC verticals like Anti Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti Bribery and Corruption, Illicit Wildlife Trafficking, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking etc. Ajay has 14 years of experience in FCC and 18 years of banking experience. Ajay is a Computer Science Engineer and an MBA (Banking Management) by qualification. Ajay holds CAMS and CFE certification which he attained during his professional journey. When Ajay is not fighting financial crime, he enjoys reading, playing cricket with his son and playing badminton.

Mishal Al Ismail

Mishal Al Ismail is the Head of Compliance & AML at Albilad Capital. Mr. Al Ismail has over 20 years of experience in the finance, compliance, financial crime, and corporate governance fields; he is highly qualified with a high level of education. He graduated from King Saud University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Financial Management), he graduated from the Institute Of Public Administration with a postgraduate diploma (equivalent to a master’s degree) in Marketing Management, as well as Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK. He holds professional degrees in regulating, compliance, Anti-Money laundering and corporate governance. In addition, he holds all CMA professional certificates. Anirban De

Anirban currently leads the Financial Crime; Cyber-security; AML Compliance initiatives in Middle East North Africa Turkey and South Asia spanning across 28 countries. Having joined SWIFT in 2017 with over 19 years’ experience in compliance, predominantly in servicing law enforcement and correspondent banking KYC. Anirban currently leads the cybercrime awareness & solutions initiatives at SWIFT for the regions. The community typically engages with the SWIFT FCC team to drive transparency and standardisation of process, provide assurance to existing controls as well as enable business critical insights to determine market share, growth and risk.  

Prior to joining SWIFT, Anirban had worked for Dow Jones & Company, driving the Financial News and Financial Crime Initiatives across India & South Asia. He has also worked for the Economic Think-tank, Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), driving economic; industrial and company data initiates in India. He has vast experience in working closely with Banking, Corporates and Government during this tenure. Anirban is an MBA from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Calcutta.

Mohamed Ragaei Abdel Fattah Abdel Wahed

Arun Ajayagosh is a subject matter expert with 14 years of experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) and Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) areas. He is specialised in financial crime investigations, strategic and tactical intelligence analysis, ML/TF typology assessment, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT). Abbas Bou Diab

Abbas Bou Diab is an Executive Manager- Head of Compliance & AML at BLOM Bank Qatar LLC since November 2008, a bank licensed by the Qatar Financial Centre Authority and regulated by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority. Abbas has 35 years working experience, among which 9 years in one of the international audit firms, Deloiite & Touche-Lebanon, in addition to 26 years in the banking sector. Abbas holds BBA Degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut (July 1987) and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the Lebanese American University (July 1997). Abbas is also a Certified Anti- Money Laundering Specialist since 2006 and a professional member of the ACAMS organization. Shawki Ahwash is a Career Banker and Anti-Financial Crime Professional based out of Beirut-Lebanon serving as Head of AML/CFT & sanctions division – MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) at a local financial institution. Alongside the current MLRO function, Shawki is a University Lecturer & Speaker at the Union of Arab Banks (UAB), ACAMS, the Romanian Banking Institute (RBI), Governance Dynamics (UAE), General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI)-Bahrain, Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies (EIBFS-UAE), and other institutions tasked with countering money laundering, terrorist financing, & proliferation finance.

Mr. Hassanieh is also an experienced EDUCATOR specializing in delivering educational pragmatic training sessions related to topics like internal audit, corruption, ethics, governance, risk management, and fraud prevention and detection. He holds a BA in Banking and Finance from Beirut Arab University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) & Certified Anti-Corruption Manager (CACM). With the aim of increasing awareness, Soltan has created an educational podcast called the ((Let’s Talk Fraud)) podcast, which highlights common scams and provides useful prevention tips to help people avoid falling victim to fraudsters. Sebastian Hetzler joined IMTF as a Co-CEO in December 2022 with the acquisition of the Siron business from FICO. At FICO, he has been a VP Product Management for FICO’s Compliance Solutions. Before the acquisition of TONBELLER AG in 2015 Sebastian has been the managing director of this company. Currently serving as a Compliance and Risk Senior Manager and MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) at Abusheikha Exchange Jordan, Oways is recognized as an expert in combatting financial crimes, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CFT), fraud, and corruption. Ibrahim Yeku is a lawyer with over 13 years’ experience in private practice and in-house counsel at Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited and currently on secondment to TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited with practice focus on Oil and Gas, litigation, transaction support and regulatory compliance and ethics advisory.  He holds LLB from Lagos State University, BL from the Nigerian Law School, LLM in Compliance and Risk Management from the prestigious Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego California, USA. He is a Fellow, Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM) USA, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP-I),  Certified Governance Risk & Compliance Professional/Auditor, Due Diligence Professional (DDP), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS), Certified Policy Management Professional (CPMP) and a Certified Intelligence Analyst. He is a co-author of the book; Business Security Audit & Review Toolkit First Edition. YEKU is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Compliance Professional Magazine of the Society for Corporate Compliance & Ethics (SCCE), member Editorial Advisory Board of ACAMS Today Europe, a magazine published by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) and Country Advisor of International Due Diligence Organization (IDDO). He is a seasoned international speaker on Compliance and has spoken at different conferences of the Society for Corporate Compliance & Ethics (SCCE) and shared knowledge on tropical international litigation issues at the World Litigation Forum in Dubai and UK. Ajai Thomas

Ajai is the Chief Financial Officer at Kuwait International Bank. He has been a member of KIB’s management team since 2014 and brings with him over 22 years of professional experience in assurance engagements and functional responsibilities in various industries and regions. He leads the financial control and planning activities along with investor relations at KIB. Ajai played a key role in elevating KIB to Boursa Kuwait’s Premier Index and with its award winning AT1 and AT2 Sukuk issuances. He spent over a decade with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touché in Kuwait, where he led multicultural teams specialized in financial services and audits, in addition to his various functional roles in Bahrain and India; prior to joining KIB. 

Ajai is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI, India), Certified Information Systems Auditor – CISA and a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer – CDPSE (ISACA, US). He also holds Master’s degree in financial management and Bachelor’s (Physics major) in addition to various professional certifications.  Various Islamic finance periodicals have featured his articles. He is also regular speaker in the Kuwait banking sector.

Benjamin Anafi

With over 15 years of experience working in Governance, Risk and Compliance, Ben has worked for some of the world’s largest banks and international organisations including HSBC, Barclays, Bank of China and Deloitte. In a variety of senior roles Ben has lead and managed teams implementing change programs in risk management, regulatory policy and control mapping and the end-to-end build of compliance and AML control frameworks.  In his capacity as an MLRO Ben has expertise in all areas of financial crime including risk assessments, system implementation, reporting and strategy development at a senior management level.
